Band 5 Paediatrics Newly Qualified Staff Nurse (Rotation/Non-Rotation)

Salary:                  £25,681- £33,058 per annum incl. HCAS

Location:             West Middlesex University Hospital, Isleworth

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services from Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital—and a number of community-based services across London, such as our award-winning sexual health and HIV clinics.

The Trust has over 6,000 staff proudly serving a million people locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. We treat a patient every 40 seconds, performing 34,000 operations and carrying out 391,000 scans, x-rays and procedures each year. As the second largest maternity provider in the country we help deliver a baby almost every hour of the day. We have one of the lowest mortality rates in the country and 90% of our patients would recommend us to family and friends.

Paediatric Service

We are one of London's largest provider of children's services, caring for over 75,000 children a year in our inpatient, outpatient wards and our Children's Accident and Emergency. We are also the lead centre for specialised paediatric and neonatal surgery in North West London.

A major redevelopment of our services means we have state of the art paediatric theatres, daycare suite, outpatients department, high dependency unit with paediatric intensive care facilities for elective procedures, and a paediatric surgical/gastrointestinal ward. We still have more development to come.

Your role

As a staff nurse you will have responsibility for planning, managing and coordinating clinical care for children requiring high level of nursing care. We focus on developing nursing leaders for the future and therefore provide individualised mentoring and clinical development.

You should possess excellent communication, assessment and planning skills, willing to work with change and challenge to ensure improved lives and futures for children and families.

In return, you will have the opportunity to develop extensive specialist experience through our rotation with our sister site at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital as well as enhance your leadership, management skills and mentoring skills through our Capital Nurse programme.
